Old Guildhall Museum & Gaol

This 15th century listed building houses some of the most fascinating pieces from Looe’s history. Toys, domestic equipment, porcelain, regalia, model boats and much more can be found here.

The building itself is also of great historical interest with the upper floor once the East Looe Town Hall and Magistrates Court. The room now houses the weights and measures used to enforce fair trading along with local wills and deeds.

Fishing has long been a key activity in Looe and the museum displays a number of photographs, model boats and even a pilchard press along with plenty of information relating to fishing in the town.
